Amsterdam Wine Academy is a WSET approved program provider and licensed to offer WSET Level 1, 2 and 3 in wine courses, both in Dutch and in English. In addition, we work together with Wine Scholar Guild (WSG) for students who want to specialise further. For those interested, we also offer WSET courses in Spirits and Sake. Ever wondered why one wine tastes so different from another? In this course you take your first steps into the world of wine: discover the main grape varieties, wine styles and the regions they come from, learn how wine is made, and finish by mastering the art of food and wine pairing.

Want to be able to confidently back up your wine choices? In this course you learn not only to professionally evaluate wines on style, quality and price, but also to recognise wine faults and make informed recommendations. You finish with a practical exam in which you blind-taste and analyse two wines, taking a recognised step towards the WSET Diploma.

The teacher (Wouter) was so helpful in supplementing the standardised and necessary knowledge of the WSET with rich information and context about the world of wine! He was an excellent tutor and instructor in tasting as well, offering us some unique tasting samples and experiences and accompanying as we explore and expand our palate. Best choice I’ve made during my time in Amsterdam! I completed WSET level 3 in English and the learning process was fun and highly engaging. Wouter prepared us very well for a challenging and demanding examination and helped us to get rid of the fear of blind tasting. Wouter is a born teacher and teaches in a very pleasant way. Very nice! Especially when the sometimes dry subject matter related to winemaking becomes more accessible and sticks.
