Frequently asked questions

It is officially allowed to go directly to WSET Level 3. However, we are cautious about this because the level of WSET Level 3 is still regularly underestimated. It is an advanced level. Please contact us if you are considering this. Wouter is happy to talk to you and will advise you about the feasibility for you.

WSET is internationally recognized and focuses on analyzing wine characteristics and quality, while SDEN is geared towards identifying wines from the perspective of the Dutch market. Read more about the difference between WSET and SDEN.

No, it is not required to complete Level 1 before starting Level 2.

Yes, typically around holiday periods. Send us an email if you want to be kept informed about start dates.

Yes, the book and exam are included. Extra costs apply for any re-examinations.

Current availability is listed on the course page. If fewer than four spots are available, this is explicitly indicated. Each class can accommodate up to 16 participants.

If you need to miss a lesson for a Level 2 or Level 3 course, let us know via email as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee anything but will do our best to offer you a spot in another group if possible. Due to the short duration of WSET Level 1, it is not possible to catch up on a missed lesson in this course.

We have to request the final exams three weeks in advance at WSET. Until then, it is possible to postpone an exam free of charge. After this it is no longer possible to change the exam date and we will have to charge costs.

For WSET Level 2, 3, and French/Italian Wine Scholar, it is possible to pick up the study materials two months before the course starts by appointment. Please email or call us to arrange a pick-up time/location. You can also choose to receive the study package at the first lesson. It is not necessary to read the book before the course starts.

During the course, we offer practice exams and tasting sessions. At our wine bar Paskamer, you can also practice blind wine tastings. For additional practice materials, we recommend external providers like Nadine de Visser and Thirty Fifty, where we have secured a 10% discount for our students.

No, retakes are only possible if you do not pass the exam.

Yes, parking is available at the Albert Cuyp garage near Gerard Doustraat and Frans Halsstraat, and at the Marie Heineken garage near Tweede Jan Steenstraat.

Absolutely, in addition to masterclasses, we offer customized wine tastings. Contact us with your wishes and budget, and we will arrange a suitable tasting. For small groups, we offer tastings at our wine bar Paskamer.

Yes, we do. We offer physical gift vouchers that you can fill in as desired. You can give a specific scheduled course or a course without a specific date, allowing the recipient to choose which course to enroll in. You can also choose to give a monetary amount.

Send us an email with the voucher number, the desired course, and the start date. We will take care of the rest!

For private groups, we adjust the price based on group size and specific requirements. Larger groups (>10 people) may qualify for a discount. We do not offer discounts for small groups (2-3 people) for existing courses. Feel free to contact us for more information.
