On this page you can read how you can use your STAP budget for a WSET level 2 or 3 wine course at Amsterdam Wine Academy. Read the conditions carefully to make sure you can make a successful application!
As an employee, self-employed person or job seeker, you can apply for a STAP budget of up to EUR. 1,000.00 applications for following a course. This allows you to develop yourself further, become better at your profession and strengthen your position on the labor market. STAP stands for “Stimulans Arbeidsmarkt Positie” and replaces the old tax deduction of training costs.
At Amsterdam Wine Academy you can follow the WSET level 2 and WSET level 3 courses using the STAP subsidy.

Go to the course you want to follow on our website and choose 'Register'. In the registration form you tick that you want to use the STAP subsidy.
PLEASE NOTE: If you opt for STAP subsidy, only 1 participant can be registered at a time. In addition, the training you choose must start at least 4 weeks and at most 4 months after the official application. In other words, not all of our WSET Level 2 and WSET Level 3 courses are eligible.
We will get started with your registration and will let you know whether you have been admitted no later than 3 working days after receipt of your registration. In that case you will receive the STAP registration form from us. You will need this when applying for the STAP budget from the UWV, which you must do yourself.
Immediately after the application period has started, apply for your STAP budget on the website of the UWV. You will receive a message from them as soon as the STAP budget has been allocated.
Amsterdam Wine Academy receives the STAP budget allocated to you and settles this with the costs of the training you have chosen. When the training costs exceed the maximum STAP budget of EUR. 1,000, you will receive an additional invoice. This must be paid before the start of the training.
You can use the STAP budget for the WSET level 2 and WSET level 3 courses of the Amsterdam Wine Academy. If the training costs exceed the STAP budget of EUR. 1,000.00 you will receive an invoice for the difference.
Furthermore, one of the conditions is that the starting date of your course is at least four weeks after submitting your application (at the UWV) and at most three months after the application period has expired. So keep this in mind because this makes that not all our WSET Level 2 and WSET Level 3 courses are eligible.

Applying for a STAP budget is very easy. You can register for the program of your choice via www.amsterdamwineacademy.com. You will then receive a STAP registration certificate from us. You can apply for your STAP subsidy online at UWV via www.stapuwv.nl.
Good to know!
The demand for STAP budget is high and gone = gone. So make sure you’re there on time! Go to www.stapuwv.nl well before 10:00 am on 2 January, click on Request STAP budget and do not refresh your browser anymore. If you have reported for your study programme, you will receive the proof of registration from us by e-mail that you need for your grant application.
What happens if my application is confirmed?
When your application is confirmed, we will finalize your registration. UWV then pays your training afterwards to the Amsterdam Wine Academy. If your training costs more than € 1,000, you only pay the rest yourself.
What happens if my application is rejected?
No worries! You’re not stretched out on anything. Your registration will only become final when you receive the STAP budget. If not, you can cancel the announcement. Of course you can also choose to follow the training without a STAP budget.
In 2023, 200 million euros will be available. The STAP budget is divided over various application periods. Applications are assessed in order of receipt. The following applies: on = on. It is therefore important that you act early and submit your application as soon as possible.
